“A bedroom is the place where you allow yourself to recharge and reboot.” Says Rashia Bell, an interior decorator.
Creating a self-care sanctuary from in your bedroom keeps your mind healthy, and puts you in the right mood to rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit.
We share three amazing ways you could create a self-care sanctuary in your bedroom.
Bring in Greens
One of the best ways to create a self-care sanctuary from your bedroom is by bringing in indoor plants.
Indoor plants don’t just look good, they make us feel good mentally and physically, too.
Studies have shown indoor plants boost mood, reduce stress and fatigue, clean the indoor air by absorbing toxins, increasing humidity and producing oxygen and are therapeutic!
Light it up!
A bright room really lightens your mood. Natural light is the ideal, however in the absence of that artificial lighting works. Spot lights, track lighting or recessed fixtures are great options to add light. They can be complemented with table and floor lamps which are ideal for providing task lighting in specific spots, such as beside a sofa or bed. If you want to mimic the look of natural light, use full-spectrum bulbs that simulate daylight to keep the light soft and warm.
Free it up!
Create a space in your bedroom so you could sit, feel the floor or the rug, and meditate. If you can avoid it, don’t have a work desk in your room, keep that in the living room or create a study.
