At some point in 2019, there will be times when your faith will be tested.

Perhaps, someone may question what you believe in, or a New Year’s resolution may seem too far-fetched. Fortunately for us, God does not leave his followers alone during a time of weakness. He has given us the tools we need to help increase our faith—all we need to do is honor them with practice!

Here’s 4 ways to improve your faith in God throughout the year 2019 and beyond!

Reflect On What God Has Done For You Before:

If you’re currently in a trying situation and aren’t sure of how you’re going to come out of the other side, try reminding yourself of the times when God has pulled you through. Think back to all the difficult experiences you’ve survived throughout the years, and acknowledge God’s unwavering faithfulness. Remember that if He’s done it before, He can surely do it again.

Read the Word:

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) says, So then, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Becoming familiar with the Bible and what faith is all about by meditating on its content helps develop a basis for growing your faith.

Set time aside each day to read through the scripture and feed your spirit with the word.

Build A Community:

In 2019, try to surround yourself with people who share the same vision and faith as you. Whether it is a new church or a small bible study group, it is imperative to nurture relationships with friends who will keep you accountable for your faith in God.

Fast and pray:

Combining fasting with prayer is a powerful weapon in your spiritual arsenal. If you find your faith being attacked by fear and doubt, fasting under the Lord’s direction may be just what is needed to not only restore your faith, but build it as well.
