We all love a good bargain!
At Bubo Living, we believe the home of your dreams is within reach without breaking the bank, and we are always on a mission to discover an interior store were you an get amazing deals. Here’s a round up of five you should definitely know.
Iponri market is home to plethora of interior decor stores, most very affordable. It’s a homemakers dream. Wander around from store to store and you are bound to find something you love and for a good price too! Their strength is in decor accents and accessories, not in furniture. It’s almost a perfect competitive market in Iponri, as some stalls sell the exact same products, sometimes even cheaper than their counterparts so don’t be in a hurry, it’s one market you really have to take your time. Go around, explore and because it is a market make sure you haggle the prices so you get the best bargain possible.
We discovered this store three years ago and it has definitely become one of our favorites. The owner started the business over 15 years ago in Iponri market, and is now located in 11 Kayode Otitoju Street, off Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1. I have to give it to the lovely woman who owns the store, she has good taste! This is a great space to shop for decor accents, accessories and furniture pieces. They also have a curated tabletop section with plates, serving dishes etc. I recently got a lovely hand painted sugar canister for NGN1500 (Yes! One Thousand Five Hundred Naira), although she admitted it was over 10 years old. They have things for as low as NGN 1500 to the hundreds of thousands, but something for every budget!
This is a diamond in a rough, don’t be discouraged by their Instagram page (@addingshome), it’s one of those places you need to see for yourself. Addings Home was discovered on a random visit to Ikota Shopping complex, I literally stumbled on it and was pleasantly surprised by their selection of accessories and accents. I got a garden stool there for NGN25k , which was the most affordable I had seen in my months of searching as well as a gold metallic mirror for under NGN20K. In addition, I picked up a rug, it was over a NGN100k but for the size and quality, it was definitely a bargain. I can’t recall their stall number in Ikota, but it’s nothing a call can’t fix.
Most definitely worth the hype. Great place when you’re in search for artisanal and handmade crafts for your home. From woven baskets, to handmade wooden sculptures, and artworks, you are spoilt for choice. It’s also a place you need to take your time with and wander for a little bit. As with every market, haggle, haggle, haggle!
This is a lighting store, an amazing lighting store. Founded in Austria by Ludwig Obwieser, EGLO in its current year marketed 18 million luminaires in over 132 countries on all continents. An EGLO store recently opened at the Brazzers Mall, Admiralty Way, Lekki. Over the years, I have found lighting stores in Lagos expensive and quite limited for contemporary lighting fixtures – silver and crystal is kind of the order of the day. EGLO is a breath of fresh air if you love a modern or contemporary style. Delicious gold and rose gold finishes, sculptural lighting, all for a good price. A friend recently got two lighting fixtures for her dining and living space for a little under NGN60K at EGLO, this included installation! Their collection is very diverse, so there’s something for everyone – the bargain hunters and those who want to spurge.
